A new way to interact with ERPNext: Speech-to-Text and Amazon Polly integration are now live
When I started building changAI, the goal was simple: make enterprise data feel less like a spreadsheet and more like a conversation. Today, we’re taking a massive leap toward that reality.
I’m thrilled to announce the latest update to changAI, which introduces full Speech-to-Text (STT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) capabilities.
Why Voice? Why Now?
In the middle of a busy workday, clicking through five sub-menus to find a sales figure is a friction point. Sometimes, you just need to ask.
With this update, you can now speak directly to your ERP. Whether you’re checking regional sales in Dubai or asking for total revenue while on the move, changAI processes your voice and—thanks to our new Amazon Polly integration—speaks the answer back to you in a natural, human-like voice.
What’s in the Box?
Amazon Polly Integration: High-fidelity voice synthesis. We’ve started with ‘Joanna,’ but the infrastructure is there for more.
Settings Overhaul: A new dedicated “Settings” tab where you can toggle Auto Read Replies and manage your TTS engine.
Hands-Free Insights: The bot can now read out complex data—like your sales for Saudi Arabia—so you don’t have to stay glued to the screen.
Real-Time Data, Real Conversations
In the screenshots below, you can see the new interface in action. By simply asking for “total sales,” the AI fetches the live data from your ERPNext backend and presents it clearly.
Pro Tip: Switch on “Auto Read” in the settings if you want a truly eyes-free experience during your morning data review.
How to Upgrade
The code is live and ready for you. If you are already using changAI, simply pull the latest update from our GitHub repository.
Pull the latest changes.
Configure your AWS credentials for Polly (or use browser-default TTS).
Chat (or talk!) away.
